Hi, I’m Ralf. I am an experienced secondary-school tutor who previously tutored students in Adelaide and now provides Year 10–12 tutoring in Canberra and online across Australia.

I specialise in:

I achieved an ATAR above 98 and completed a Bachelor of Computer Science (Advanced), majoring in Data Science, with a GPA above 6.8/7. I currently work as an APS6 Data Analyst and am completing a Master of Management at the Australian National University.

My goal is to help students understand difficult concepts clearly, close gaps in their knowledge and become more confident when approaching assessments and exams.

Many students struggle in Maths and Science not because they lack ability, but because a few important foundational concepts were never fully understood.

For example, a student may find calculus difficult because they are not confident with algebra. A Physics student may understand the theory but struggle to rearrange equations. A Chemistry student may memorise formulas without understanding when and why to use them.

My approach is to identify these gaps and rebuild the student’s understanding step by step.

During lessons, I:
- Explain concepts in clear and simple language
- Break difficult questions into manageable steps
- Check understanding throughout the lesson
- Use guided examples before asking students to work independently
- Identify recurring mistakes and correct the underlying cause
- Adapt lessons to the student’s current level and goals

I do not want students to simply copy a solution. I want them to understand the process well enough to solve similar questions independently.

I work with students who:
- Feel behind or overwhelmed in Maths or Science
- Need help understanding a difficult topic
- Want to improve their assessment or exam performance
- Need structured revision before a test
- Understand theory but struggle with problem-solving
- Want to improve their confidence and study habits
- Need support completing homework and practice questions

Lessons can be used for regular weekly support or short-term preparation before an assessment or exam.

Depending on the student’s needs, lessons may involve:
- Reviewing current school topics
- Explaining concepts the student did not understand in class
- Working through homework and practice questions
- Preparing for upcoming assessments
- Revising previous topics
- Developing exam techniques
- Creating a structured study plan
- Identifying and correcting knowledge gaps

Each lesson is personalised rather than following the same generic plan for every student.

Experience

I have experience providing one-to-one tutoring to secondary school students in Adelaide, with a focus on Years 10–12 Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
