DAY TIME CLASSES FOR 3-5 YEAR OLDS ON TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS

Small group classes start at $50. Classes are one-on-one private, semi-private or a small group of 3 to 4 students maximum.

Lesson location is walking distance from Strathfield Station, Santa Sabina, Meriden, Trinity Grammar and other local schools.

ABOUT ME:

I am a qualified Speech & Performance Teacher and a retired Lawyer. ASPA (Dist.) (AMEB) CVCA (Dist.) (AMEB) BEc/LLB (University of Sydney)

For several years I have been pursuing my passion for Speech and Communication by teaching students to reach their communication goals. I have taught students from Santa Sabina College, Trinity Grammar School, Newington College, Meriden, the King's School, Sydney Grammar, James Ruse Agricultural High School, Santa Maria del Monte, Arden Anglican School, Galstaun College, Tara Anglican School, Haberfield Public School, Artarmon Public School, Strathfield South Public School, Brisbane State High School, and many other schools.

My unique blend of qualifications and experience makes me the ideal educator, as not only have I studied and taught speech and communication for several years, but I have also worked as a lawyer, where I utilised these skills. For example, I presented legal workshops where I had to teach, speak well and engage the audience. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and well developed analytical skills were critical to my career. I aim to help students to develop these skills.

A memorable experience that also demonstrates my written communication skills is when at the age of 17, I was the youngest winner of an International writing competition, where two students were chosen from each of seven countries. The prize was a fully chaperoned trip of a lifetime to Japan for two weeks. Communication skills can certainly get you places!

Furthermore, as a dedicated educator and a parent, I resonate deeply with the desire to find the ideal mentor—one who not only excels in teaching but who understands the needs of the individual student. I am enthusiastic, friendly, patient and I give 100% commitment to my students. Additionally, having been an Australian Migrant English Program tutor, I understand the needs of students where English is not their first language.

These are premium, specialised lessons designed to support genuine progress through tailored, evidence-based teaching.

I spend extra time preparing for each lesson prior to the tutoring session so that the student has maximum benefit during the lesson. This may include preparing lesson content, material and entries for eisteddfods and exams, and reading assessment tasks, texts and novels relevant to the needs of the student. Also, lessons with multiple students require additional preparation time for each student. There is no extra charge for this.

When teaching two or more students in a semi-private or small group lesson, the preparation required prior to the lesson increases significantly, as I ensure each student’s needs are individually addressed. To maximize the benefits of the lesson, I customize the content for each student, which may involve creating personalized material, organizing eisteddfod and exam entries, and selecting pieces that align with their individual learning goals.

One of the key advantages of shared lessons is the opportunity for increased motivation, as students learn from and encourage each other. Furthermore, they can participate in eisteddfod sections designed for two or more performers.
