My literacy teaching is grounded in multisensory, evidence-based instruction, drawing on Orton-Gillingham approaches and explicit teaching strategies. Lessons are carefully tailored to each student’s individual strengths and needs, as no two learners are the same.

I am deeply passionate about helping my students re-engage with learning while developing strong academic foundations. I place a strong emphasis on building rapport, confidence, and motivation, creating a supportive environment where students feel safe to try, take risks, and succeed. I really value getting to know you and your child and their learning style. This will help us to lay the foundations to achieve those learning goals together!

A little bit about me outside of teaching: I am a qualified piano teacher and love playing the piano; I enjoy being active (gym, yoga, pilates, hiking); cooking; travel, and I am currently pursuing further study online in my spare time!

Experience

I am a highly experienced, VIT-registered educator with over 30 years of teaching experience supporting primary and secondary students in Years 1–8 both in Australia and internationally. I have worked in leadership roles within learning support and specialist intervention, as well as in classroom teaching, supporting students with a wide range of learning needs.

I have extensive experience working with students with learning differences, specialising in dyslexia and numeracy difficulties. I bring a strong background in assessment, planning, and targeted intervention, and I specialise in teaching phonics, reading, spelling, writing, and mathematics across Years 1-8. I have also had considerable success mentoring and supporting students to transition confidently into secondary school.

$110 - Discount of 10% ($100 per lesson) if booked/prepaid in blocks of 10 lessons (Termly)
