Hi, I’m Sonia — a full-time mathematics tutor with over 6 years of experience helping students from Years 5–12 build strong mathematical foundations and improve their confidence in exams.

I specialise in helping students develop a clear and structured understanding of mathematics. My approach focuses on identifying gaps in foundational knowledge and rebuilding them step-by-step, so students can approach exams with confidence rather than confusion.

Many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because they lack clarity. I work closely with each student to ensure they understand why methods work — not just how to memorise them.

Online lessons are conducted via Zoom using a collaborative whiteboard where both the student and I can write and solve problems in real time. This allows students to work through questions step-by-step just as they would on paper.

Many students find online lessons just as effective as in-person sessions while providing greater scheduling flexibility.

My lessons are ideal for:

• Practice exam-style questions together
• Identify any gaps that need further reinforcement

Rates

One-on-one:
• Y5-6: $70/hr
• Y7-9: $70/hr
• Y10-12: $80/hr

Small group (2-3 students):
• Y5-6: $50/hr per student
• Y7-9: $50/hr per student
• Y10-12: $55/hr per student

Travel Surcharge:
• In-person lessons available within limited locations. Travel surcharge applies based on location.
• Online lessons available Australia-wide with no travel surcharge.
