Experience

Hi, I'm Maryann, Head Tutor and Founder of TheMGSchool ('MGS'). After 9 years' teaching success and increasing demand, I founded MGS to help students reach and surpass their goals.

I specialise in teaching English (Adv, Ext 1, Ext 2) and piano/music. My diverse team are all top achievers in their fields, and offer expertise in many other HSC subjects.

For English, all my students achieve either Band 6, full marks, and/or state ranks. I am well-versed with the English syllabi (Eng Adv, Ext 1, and Ext 2), and have worked alongside HSC markers to gather reliable HSC advice. I have also worked with and been mentored by Harvard, Stanford, and Peking University professors in the fields of literature and writing/research.

I achieved High Distinction in all my university English Literature and Education courses, so I am well-versed in sophisticated textual analysis, writing, and motivating young adolescents.

For piano, I am classically trained with both local and international recital and competing experience.

We are dedicated tutors who care and produce students with Band 6 results.
