I am a writer and editor, with many published HSC guides. I have been a HSC marker and advice line teacher with the New South Wales Board of Studies. The foundation of academic and career success is the ability to be a critical and creative thinker and communicator. My long experience in private tutoring enables me to shape lessons according to a student's stage in learning, their talents, interests and motivation for the specific task or module being studied.

A1 'entities' are inviting HSC students to submit their essays for instant feedback. A1 does not provide personal and reliable advice.

An article on student use of A1 in the Sydney Morning Herald (21st September 2025) stated:

"While A1 summaries may help students keep up with their assigned readings, they're often unreliable. What A1 decides is "important" rarely aligns with what teachers expect students to take away. In the process, students miss out on building reading skills."

To all High School students: Personal, human advice is irreplaceable.

I have taught in New Guinea, Malaysia, Canada, Indonesia and Australia and have tutored students of diverse language and cultural backgrounds.
