I specialise in helping Year 12 students prepare for the External Assessment, which I marked the last five years in Queensland and for 15 years in NSW, and which I have prepared many students for both as a classroom teacher and tutor. My private students all achieved top band or second band marks. I know how to help students target specific criteria in a discerning way. I have been teaching for more than thirty years and I am very familiar with the texts set for study. I have experience teaching all levels of English including Extension 1 and 2 in NSW and Literature, General and EALD in Queensland.

For all students of English, History, Geography, Psychology, I can help you express your ideas more clearly and concisely. I can help develop your vocabulary and improve your expression; assist with classwork; and assist with preparation, scaffolding, drafting and polishing Assessment Tasks. I can proofread, edit, and make more concise and fluent anything, including tertiary assessments and High School Maths and Science Assessments, AND show you how to do it.

GAMSAT - I have marked GAMSAT and am an experienced GAMSAT tutor.

Experience

I have experience as a High School English specialist teacher for over thirty years with 15 years in NSW and 15 years in Queensland. I have taught in both disadvantaged government schools and private schools, retiring recently due to ill health. I have been tutoring as well since I first started teaching and in the last three and a half years I have been tutoring full time. I currently teach students from Year 4 to tertiary to adult, but I specialise in High School as that was my career. I have expertise in the Queensland ATAR system and preparation for the EA. I have marked the EA for 5 years. I have experience as a GAMSAT marker (3 years), and HSC marker (15 years).
