Hello! I’m Tvishaa, a University of Melbourne student studying Biomedicine and majoring in immunology. I graduated with a raw 50 in English and ATAR of 98.30. I have cleared the selective school exam to get into MacRob and also received an academic scholarship at PLC.

I offer tutoring throughout the year or exam prep-specific sessions that focus on getting through and reviewing content while providing practice and guidance on scoring well. For my English students, I offer tailored feedback, extra resources that will help their ideas to stand out, and exam-focused practice and tips to help reach their goal.

During the holidays, I offer VCE students completing a unit 3/4 in BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY and ENGLISH head start lessons to get ahead before the school year starts! It consists of weekly 1-2hr lessons focused on getting ahead of content, allowing students who wish to excel to have extra practice and become familiar with the content before the school year starts.

I have been an experienced tutor for 4 years now and focus on honing my student's strengths and instilling confidence about their weaknesses. I provide resources, strategies and develop skills integral for succeeding in VCE such as time-management and answering smartly in exams.

I am passionate about teaching because I enjoy helping students of varying capabilities utilise their potential and grow beyond it. The holidays are a perfect time for students entering year 12 to get ahead so that they feel at ease and in control when the year starts. But its never too late!

My style of Teaching:
Being in year 12 also means being held accountable, taking responsibility and having trust in oneself. My tutoring sessions are structured around clear learning objectives, tailored to meet each student’s unique needs. I employ a mix of direct instruction, hands-on activities, and interaction-based discussion to cater to different learning styles.

Each lesson includes a brief review, introduction of new content, guided practice, and ends with assignments to reinforce concepts. I also provide senior students with resources and access to top-scoring essays and notes to provide students with a logical framework to follow.

Experience

I have been tutoring for four years now, both formally and informally. My experience has ranged from tutoring younger students at my school after being selected through an academically selective process, to working privately and commercially. I’ve worked with groups of students preparing for scholarship and selective school examinations, with session sizes ranging from 5 to 15 students. Additionally, I have tutored VCE students both privately and in small groups of 4-5.

The impact I have noticed has been through many of them achieving their goals, such as earning scholarships, gaining admission into selective schools, or improving their assessment results at school significantly.

Qualifications

ATAR of 98.30 from Presbyterian Ladies College with raw 50 study score in English. Have received academic scholarship, cleared the selective school exam and got into Mac Robertson Girls School with 3 superiors.

Currently studying Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne.
