I'm an experienced Primary Teacher and enjoy seeing children get back their confidence. For whatever reasons when a child knows they have fallen behind it is very hard to catch up in class. They may even refuse to go to school or have behaviour issues that masks the fact they can't do the work. I focus on Literacy and Numeracy skills from P to Year 7. Once I establish the level a student is working at, I can develop a plan to enhance their learning. I'm a big believer in setting homework as this will allow them to practise the work we have covered. I may also recommend home workbooks that can target specific areas such as phonics, Grammar, Spelling and Writing. As a tutor I would also like to know what your child is working on at school and re enforce the classroom teaching. For example if they are working on Persuasive writing then we could work on improving that area.

I can tutor after school any day unless already booked. We can meet at the library or the students house.
Maths is another area where the basics have been neglected and the students claim to hate maths as they have fallen behind in class. I can test a student and target the gaps in their learning. No one is born reading and writing or do maths. These are learnt skills and if a child has not learnt them then they can't understand what to do.

I can target and individualize your child's weaknesses and build on them so they can achieve a higher standard and build their self confidence.
