Hi, my name is Tiger Zhou and a 2019 graduate of Cherrybrook Technology High School with a ATAR of 98. I specialise in providing the best quality tutoring services to students undertaking English as an Additional Language and Dialect(EALD/ESL). The majority of my students achieved State Rank and Band 6 in their HSC.

Since my graduation in 2019, I have had the privilege of tutoring over 40 students, including both domestic and international students, ranging from year 8 to the Higher School Certificate (HSC) level. I take pride in the consistent and guaranteed improvements in my students' grades, both in internal and external assessments.

In the recent 2023 HSC exams, all of my students achieved an ATAR greater than 90, showcasing their dedication and hard work. Notably, one of my students received a prestigious State Rank for EALD (English as an Additional Language or Dialect), a testament to the exceptional results and academic excellence that can be achieved through my personalized tutoring. Many of my students have made remarkable progress, moving from a Grade C (60% average) to achieving over 85% and even securing the top rank in their internal assessments. Additionally, numerous HSC students from well-known schools such as Hills Grammar, Tempe High School, Mackellar Girls, Cheltenham Girls, and others have graduated with the prestigious rank of #1 in their school.

Having excelled in EALD and Year 12 myself, I firmly believe that success is not solely the result of hard work but also a deep understanding of the syllabus. My primary goal is to ensure that all my students grasp the foundational concepts before delving deeper into the subject, fostering a genuine appreciation for the English language that goes beyond exam preparation.

In high school, I pursued a diverse range of subjects, including Chemistry, Economics, EALD (English as an Additional Language or Dialect), and Extension I and II Mathematics. During my Year 12 journey, I achieved the top rank in EALD, consistently scoring nearly perfect marks in all internal assessments. My success in this subject has given me the confidence to help my students reach a similar level of performance.

What sets me apart as a tutor is not just my academic achievements but also my passion for teaching, especially in English. Coming to Sydney from China in Year 7, I understand the challenges of learning a new language. My unique background allows me to share my experiences with those who may not be familiar with English, igniting motivation in students who are striving for the high marks they deserve.

I believe in being patient and kind to all my students, as I firmly believe that there are no bad students, only bad teachers. Rather than lecturing, I prefer to work with my students as a team, sharing my strategies and experiences to guide them through the learning process. I can adapt to each student's needs, tailoring lessons to address their weaknesses and ensure they keep pace with our learning process.

In my lessons, I focus on:

For the past 3 years, I have been working with over 30 high school students to prepare for their HSC assessments especially with EALD students to help improve their writing, comprehension and critical thinking skills which are essential to maximize their marks and achieve their fullest potential. My ability to not only just teach but to inspire confidence is the main reason why some of my students have seen their grades rocket from 60% to within top three of their school.
