I love to teach students to learn to read and write. I am a qualified teacher. Lessons are sequential using synthetic phonics. All lessons are planned for individual progress. Goals are set and revised regularly. Lessons contain games, learning a new grapheme (letter combination) reading the grapheme in words, then in sentences and spelling. Phonological awareness, vocabulary, oral language, fluency and comprehension are included within the lessons.

All of the students that I teach have learning difficulties. I am experienced working with students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, ASD, hearing impairment and vision impairment.

I have been teaching for 27 years (24 in primary schools) and have a Graduate Certificate in Education (Learning Difficulties) as part of my Master of Special Education.

All students attend 30 minute online lessons for 2 or 3 lessons a week. This supports shorter attention spans and allows for repetition.

Rates: $65 per session for two, three or four 30 minute sessions a week.

Experience

I have been a classroom teacher in a primary school for 24 years. Then I taught as an intervention teacher, teaching children to read and spell, prior to opening my own full time tutoring business in 2020.

I currently work full time teaching students online for two or three 30 minute sessions per week, $60 per session. This allows for revision and repetition. All lessons contain direct, explicit, structured instruction.
