I am a native English speaker. I have been working as a volunteer English teacher for three and a half years.

I teach Intermediate/Advanced classes mostly, but have taught Beginners' classes too. Most lessons involve all four skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. I can do purely conversation classes, but am good at grammar, spelling, punctuation and the technical aspects of English. I am good at explaining the rules of English and the meaning of expressions and idioms.

I have worked as a volunteer teacher or tutor of English as a Second Language for three and a half years. I have also taught the New South Wales sixth-form English course to students who were second-language speakers of English.

Qualifications

BA (Hons) Sydney University

My honours subject was History, but I also did three years of English.

Certificate IV Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL)

$30 per hour
