I tutor students on a weekly basis after school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. When exams are close or assignments are due, students may also arrange, via text (0438421565) or email (carolrix49@gmail.com), extra weekend or online sessions with me.

I can come to your place, or you can come to mine. It costs less if you come to me.
When we start tutoring, we will discuss and analyze your strengths and weaknesses in your different subjects. This is what we will focus on in successive sessions.

I will also teach you how to research information effectively, analyze that information and texts, and plan and write paragraphs, essays and assignments that are insightful, clear and concise. These skills are essential in a whole range of subjects. At times, I may set aside a tutoring session to focus on one of those skills, but mostly, you will learn those skills by tackling set assignments and homework, with my guidance. I am there to help you with what you learn in class and don't intend to put any extra workload onto you.

Most of my students have been in senior high school and have been aiming for top marks in order to get into the tertiary courses they want. With hard work and my tutoring, they have achieved that.

Experience

I have been a high school teacher in Humanities and English subjects for over 30 years. For the last twelve years, I have tutored students from Grade 3 to Grade 12 and at university level. Most of my students have been in senior high school and have been aiming for top results.

Qualifications

Batchelor of Arts with Honours; Diploma of Education; Certificate in the teaching of English as a Second Language

Rates

$60 per hour if you come to me; $70 if I come to you (within 20 kms of my home); $50 per hour if we work online (when working on assignments or a special project for an extended period of time)
