Hi! I’m David, and I have a dual degree in Bachelor of Mathematics/Computer Science, completed at the end of 2025 at UQ. Obtaining my degree gave me excellent experience in learning how to communicate and work with other students, consolidating my now over 4 years of tutoring experience. Additionally, my high school education was filled with passionate learners at Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics and Technology and I thoroughly enjoyed the International Baccalaureate (IB) program taught there.

I have always been passionate about mathematics and have participated in many competitions and events throughout high school. I love teaching others mathematics and improving their skills and get the most out of it when genuine progress is being made. Additionally, I am very interested in technology and have learnt many topics over the years. I can program in python, java and C, and can assist with networks, databases and other programming topics.

I have a thorough and detailed understanding of IB Mathematics and Computer Science, and the way students can approach work in a way that allows them to complete it in a focused manner. Furthermore, I also have a deep understanding of the Queensland curriculum, having helped many students across General, Methods and Specialist mathematics as well as mathematics for grades 7-10.

I am able to tutor students from grades 7-12 in practically any mathematics and computing related subjects. Additionally, I can tutor most first-year university courses in computing and mathematics. I am also happy to proofread and suggest advice for assignments. I am available to tutor most days of the week and can tutor in-person or online from the afternoon through to the evening, and also at night online.

I have tutored 1st-year university students with basic programming as well as mathematics. Additionally, I have tutored some year 12 students doing the International Baccalaureate in mathematics, as well as many high school students in various forms of Queensland mathematics tutoring. In total I have tutored at least 25 students.

Graduated from Queensland Academy for Science Mathematics and Technology doing the International Baccalaureate with a score of 40/45 in 2021.
Achieved a 7 in Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches Higher Level.
Achieved a 7 in Computer Science Higher Level.

First Place at UQ/QAMT Problem Solving Competition Year 7-8 divison, 2016.
Participated in the pathway program run by the Australian Mathematical Olympiad Committee, 2017-2020.
Participated in the Australian Mathematics Olympiad competition, 2020.
Perfect Score in the Computational and Algorithmic Thinking competition, 2021.
