Hi, my name is Edgar, and I can teach piano to children, teenagers or adults, beginners & intermediates (up to Grade 6 AMEB). I try to use a friendly and enjoyable approach to tutoring - I find it is much easier to learn if you enjoy what you're learning! I'll use flashcards and mnemonics for learning notation and theory, and teach songs which the student enjoys to keep them engaged.

I try to keep lessons short and concentrated for maximum focus, generally 30 minutes for beginners but going up to 60 minutes depending on the students progression and requirements. I prefer to give lessons at my house. I have a fairly large collection of sheet music suitable for many different skill levels, although students may sometimes be required to buy music books if there are better options for the student or if mine are already being used. Whether you or your child are just looking to learn for fun, or want to get started on the AMEB pathway to Grade 8 and beyond, I am the perfect teacher for you!
