Hello! My name is Zayan Yousuf and I am currently a student at Bond University, studying Medicine. I have always loved teaching people new things, whether it be sports, music or academics, and just love the feeling of satisfaction that comes with being able to teach students topics or concepts that they may have had difficulty in fully grasping or understanding.
In my own experience, I've had excellent tutors and mentors throughout school and in university so far, and I appreciate how much their support and guidance have contributed to my growth. These tutors and mentors would listen well, provide me with help while challenging me to learn, and explain things in a way that led to understanding. Today, these are the qualities I aim to hold when I teach and tutor.

The subjects I undertook under the QCE system in Year 12 include:
- Specialist Mathematics
- Mathematical Methods
- Chemistry
- Modern History - Literature

I obtained a final raw score of above 90 in each of the above subjects, receiving an overall ATAR of 98.75. I was the Dux of Year 11 at The Southport School, and also was awarded the Archbishop's Prize for Academic Excellence in Year 12.

My main areas of expertise include:
- Higher knowledge in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Science, Human anatomy (due to the degree I am undertaking at university)
- Modern History
- Essay writing skills, drafting and editing assignments, giving study tips and guides

The levels of tutoring I offer can be catered towards each student, however generally:
- Chemistry -> High school, Years 7-12
- Modern History -> High school, Years 7-12 - Sciences (general, biology, anatomy) -> Primary, lower or middle high school - Years 7-10
- Mathematical Methods -> lower or middle high school - Years 7-10
- Mathematics -> Primary
- English/Literature -> All levels

Experience

My tutoring experience includes actively partaking in study help classes held at my school during year 12, in which we would tutor students in the grades below us (throughout a few sessions per week). These sessions included answering any questions that students may have about homework, helping them with difficult questions, explaining and elaborating on topics that students required further help to understand and fully grasp, giving study tips and advice on how to efficiently study in a healthy way etc.
I found myself thoroughly enjoying these sessions throughout the year and felt great satisfaction in witnessing the growth and development of students who were able to understand concepts they previously could not and apply these to numerous questions.
