Hi parents and students! My name is Kia Semertzidis and all my life I have had a heavy passion for helping those in need as well as dedicating my time to youth, not only through tutoring, but also through teaching, childcare and social work. I graduated from Avila College in 2022 with exceptional academic achievements, leading me to undertake a course of Occupational Therapy (Honours) at Monash University.

All throughout my schooling years I have been a high achiever and have had a passion for striving for excellence, and this is what I will apply to teaching my students! I will be dedicated to ensuring my students understand the content rather than memorising it, with the use of spaced repetition, using numerous study techniques and also following a guideline to ensure we are not only up to date, but also ahead of the cohort!!

Aside from the important academic side of tutoring, I also highly value the connection between my students and myself, and believe that a strong relationship is what really ensures academic success! I will be committed to understanding my students learning styles in order to cater for their needs, as well as prioritising keeping the tutoring sessions comfortable and stress-free to build trust and friendship so that we can solve problems together!

I am also currently working 3 jobs with children and students, which has allowed me to not only experience working with children of different ages and nationalities, but has also allowed me to advance in skills of communication, teamwork and problem solving.
