ENGLISH RAW 50 & PREMIER'S AWARD TUTORING

Melbourne tutor in Creative Writing, English, English Literature, Medical Interviews

Hello, I'm Andrew!

***UPDATE: NOW ENROLLING STUDENTS FOR 2026***

I am a final-year medical-student, and passionate English tutor with over 4 years of tutoring experience.

In 2019 I graduated from Scotch College where I achieved a 99.55 ATAR alongside Raw scores of 50 in English, and 49 in Literature. I also received a Premier’s VCE Award for English, topping the state in the subject.

Over the past four years I have worked closely with students to achieve their own personal goals. This includes those who are striving to achieve 45+ study-scores, as well as others who may be aiming simply to improve their marks from a C to a B.

Along this journey, I have assisted 3 students achieve perfect scores of 50 in English (one of whom also received a Premier’s Award), as well as countless students to achieve results of 45+ in both English and Literature.

Feedback received:
“Hey Andrew, I'm really happy with my scores this year :) I ended up scoring a raw 50 in English and a 99.9 ATAR, which I'm ecstatic about! I'm so pleased with English and can't thank you enough for all your help over the past two years. My english score is honestly a result of our tutoring sessions and I'm forever grateful :)” - Raw 50 English Student

“I just want to extend my sincere gratitude for our tutoring sessions over the past two years. You've honestly been amazing and ever since I started tutoring with you, English became my strongest and most enjoyable subject.” - Raw 50 English Student

Tutoring philosophy:
Having achieved success in English without employing the conventional methodology of grinding out essays and rote-learning content, I believe that success in this subject stems first and foremost from an understanding of technique.

Whether the question is ‘How should I plan this topic?’, ‘How should I structure this essay?’, ‘How can I arrange this sentence?’, or even ‘What word word/phrase expresses this idea best?’, I believe that the key to success in English is deeply-rooted in an understanding of essay-writing techniques. Having honed my essay-writing approach over the last few years, I would love the opportunity to pass on the skills and tricks that I have developed, with the overall goal of making English as straightforward and painless as possible.
