Melbourne tutor in Algebra, Calculus, Engineering, ESL, Further Maths, General Maths, Geometry, Maths, Maths Methods, Microsoft Office, Statistics

Hello, and welcome to my classroom!

I am an experienced teacher and tutor in all fields of mathematics. I'm methodical and patient and am good at presenting and explaining complex matter in simple terms. I'm also a great believer that if students leave the fear of maths behind, they can master it faster than they imagine.

I've had a satisfying career in engineering, but these days I decided to go back to teaching and tutoring and transferring knowledge to younger generations -- and there is always something new for me to learn as well!

In terms of my teaching style -- I talk to students to find their level of knowledge and gaps. If possible I give them a quick pre-tutoring assessment test, and personalise sessions to enable them solid progression. I always aim to present matter in a structured and logical way. I write down all the calculation steps (or draw the graphic presentation in terms of geometric material), to improve understanding.

These days, my students are bringing home good marks from their school tests. It makes them happy, their parents are happy, and I am pleased to see their progress.

I give individual or small group (2-3) lessons.
In any setting, I actively seek confirmation from the student that they understand, and solicit their step by step explanation back to me. Also, I review homework, which gives me an insight into their level of understanding or lack thereof.

I tutor intermediate (year 7-10), senior high school (Year 11-12) students and uni exam prep. Rates depend on whether it's a small-group lesson or a one-to-one session, starting as low as $40 per hour. Standard one to one session cost is $65.

I am available most days after 4pm (Melbourne time). I also offer evening sessions -- please get in touch to inquire about my availability.

I invite you to book a session with me, and hope to see you soon!
