Hi there,

My name is Luca Nardinocchi and I am a current student of the University of Sydney having completed year 12 at Pembroke School in Adelaide in 2022 through the IB program with an ATAR of 99.25. My course of study is a double degree of Aerospace Engineering (Honours) and Arts which requires a high level of mathematics and science-based knowledge - my particular area of expertise.

As a tutor, I understand that each individual has a unique mindset and approach to studying. My personal philosophy is that I cannot achieve anything in a given field unless I enjoy the task at hand, and I try to bring this into the classroom as often as possible. Due to the personalised nature of my lessons, my student-tutor relationships go beyond explaining scientific concepts or working through difficult calculus problems. I see myself as a teacher, but also a motivator, and it is for this reason that my own attitude towards learning tends to inspire my students. Once a student begins to genuinely enjoy their work, academic achievements almost always follow.

In addition to a positive attitude towards learning, I also encourage a great degree of organisation. This takes the form of detailed lesson plans, study plans and exam time tables, as well as sequential problems and pop-tests to estimate where my students need to improve.

I am currently able to take lessons in a private meeting room on the University of Sydney's Camperdown campus, as well as partake in tutoring sessions at the student's place of residence if within a reasonable distance from the Sydney CBD.

Experience

I have been tutoring students in years 11 and 12 for the past two years, being fortunate enough to take my current cohort of students from the start of year 11 to graduation at the end of this year (presently partaking in online tutoring from my home city of Adelaide). In the past, I have also been tutored which allowed me to gain an understanding around what works and what doesn't when it comes to achieving various academic goals, from improving one's enjoyment of education to increasing grades.

Graduated with full marks (7/7) in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics Analysis and Approaches at Higher Level.
Currently studying an honours degree in Aerospace Engineering and Arts at the University of Sydney
