I specialise in Chemistry tutoring, particularly for VCE.

I have been teaching VCE Chemistry, Units 1 - 4 for the past 6 years. In that time I have developed an understanding of what skills and knowledge students need to excel in this subject. I know the common misconceptions and have tools to assist students in addressing these and improving their skills.

Lessons will be structured based on student need. I can teach content to help.students get ahead or help them consolidate what they have already learnt. Lessons will be customised to meet the students needs.

I am available after 5pm on weekdays. I can tutor from your house or meet at a library.

Experience

In 2025, I tutored students in Chemistry. I assisted a year 10 student catch up after missing some lessons. I have tutored a year 11 student, seeing an improvement in their SAC scores to over 80%. I also tutored three year 12 students, helping to improve their confidence, SAC scores and prepare for exams.

Qualifications

I have been teaching VCE Chemistry, Units 1 - 4 for the past 6 years. I have consistently had students achieve a study score above 35 and approach their exam with confidence.
Over the 6 years I have become very familiar with the study design and am aware where misconceptions occur and how to correct them.

I tutored five students in Chemistry in 2025, improving their confidence and SAC scores.

I have a Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Science) 1st class honours, Diploma of Secondary Education and a Graduate Certificate (Careers Education and Development).

I have been a secondary teacher in the Geelong region for 18 years. I am a current member of the Victorian Institute of Education and Chemistry Education Association.
