I am currently employed as an in-school tutor and learning aid/SSLO at a high school in Frenchs Forest, as well as a year 11 and 12 private tutor, and have worked with students and in learning environments for 5 years now, as both a sports instructor and academic tutor. I achieved an ATAR of 95.95, completing Physics, Chemistry, Extension 1 and 2 Maths and English Advanced, and am now studying tertiary level chemistry through a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering at UNSW. I have been tutoring Year 11 and 12 since the I left school with an average of 5 weekly students.

I consider myself a form of additional help, working best alongside the natural teaching course of the year to help with specific areas of weakness, to support struggling students as well those wanting to reach a band 6 level of understanding and everyone in between. This is most often through a combination of re-teaching, breaking down or simply fortifying certain concepts, and working through example questions and past papers. I usually adjust sessions to suit needs throughout the year, and I encourage weekly communication about specific course areas to address as well as bringing any homework/study material to work through. I find that these more conceptual subjects burn many students out mentally, and thus recommend hour-long sessions per subject, but I am very happy to do multiple sessions a week and for multiple subjects if required.
