My name is Caleb, and I graduated from North Sydney Boys High School in 2024 with an ATAR of 99.75. I am currently in my second year of the Bachelor of Medical Studies / Doctor of Medicine at UNSW. I offer in-person and online private and small-group tutoring for Years 7-12 Mathematics, Preliminary and HSC Chemistry (Years 11-12), as well as a 4-week UCAT preparation course and medical interview coaching for UNSW and WSU.

Why choose me as your tutor?

I aim to provide a balance between extensive teaching experience and a strong, recent understanding of the HSC and UCAT syllabuses. Throughout 2025, I have worked with over 20 students privately, and hundreds more through tutoring centres, with outcomes including state-ranking-equivalent results, multiple Band 6s, and significant mark improvements for students who initially struggled, helping them gain entry into their dream university degrees. Among my UCAT and interview students, over 80% received offers to medical school. A central focus of my teaching is helping students rebuild confidence and develop a genuine understanding and passion for the subject.

I have taught students from selective, private, and comprehensive public schools, which has given me insight into differing curricula, teaching styles, and expectations. This allows lessons to be adapted to suit both the school context and the individual student.

All resources are custom-made according to each student’s learning pace, school teaching order, and level of understanding. This includes structured content booklets for first exposure, produced at varying levels depending on the school, as well as extensive past-paper question banks organised by syllabus dot points for targeted exam preparation. Sample materials are available upon request.

Lessons are flexible and can be run as ongoing weekly sessions or as one-off revision or pre-exam lessons, depending on the student’s needs and level of preparedness.

What is my lesson structure like?

- Chemistry lessons typically run for 1.5-2 hours starting with a ~10 minute homework review, followed by a 15 minute quiz, and the main portion being 1.5 hrs going through new content, integrated with practice questions to consolidate knowledge. Homework is assigned and to be completed before the next lesson.
- Mathematics lessons are generally 1 hour in length (extended during exam periods) and centre on carefully selected textbook and exam questions designed to consolidate understanding and challenge the student appropriately. Homework is assigned and to be completed before the next lesson.
- UCAT preparation is delivered through 1 hour sessions on each section, followed by guided planning of timed practice and mock exams, with ongoing support provided after the 4 week course. Homework is assigned and to be completed before the next lesson.
- Interview coaching is conducted through either structured answer development using past questions or full mock interviews under exam conditions, followed by detailed feedback. Question banks are provided for practice throughout the week

Upon graduating high school, I received interview offers from every medical and dental school I applied for (SATAC & UAC), including UNSW, USyd, WSU, JMP, UAdel & Flinders. I was successful in securing my top preference in each state (UAdel Med, USyd Dent & UNSW Med) and ended up completing over 10 medical and dental school interviews. Interview coaching sessions will run for approximately 2 hours and either involve:

? Guidance in writing personal responses to an extensive & relevant bank of past interview questions, refining and personalising answers using model responses (recommended for less experienced candidates)
OR
? A comprehensive mock interview simulating real exam conditions, followed by detailed feedback & scoring to refine both content & delivery (recommended for more experienced candidates)
