It is frustrating and disheartening to not understand what is being taught at school. The curriculum moves quickly and if your child doesn't grasp a concept well, gaps are created that are tricky to close without intervention. Your child can feel incapable and despondent. Negative self talk sets in.
By forming a caring and supportive relationship with your child in a calm and light hearted environment, but with a focus on building specific skills, I aim to help your child reframe the image they may develop of themselves. Through scientifically proven multisensory teaching programs in literacy and numeracy as a team, we can get your child feeling confident.
Having been in the classroom for over 26 years I understand what works with children and have a raft of strategies for working with neurodiverse learners.

As a life long student, I continuously search for creative and novel ways to impart knowledge to students in an engaging multisensory and practical way and by investing in programs that work. My multisensory literacy intervention programs for students with dyslexia are Cracking the ABC Code, UFLI and Sounds Write. The core of my programming for students with dyscalculia are from Mathematics Australia, Ronit Bird and Steven Chinn's principles for teaching students with dyscalculia, all experts in the field.

As a classroom teacher over 26 years I have worked on targetted intervention with students to bridge gaps in their learning or extend their potential in individual, small and medium group capacities daily over my career.
I now also work teach students with dyslexia and dyscalculia in a one to one setting building foundation skills in literacy and numeracy to develop their skills.
