Hi, my name is Eva. I have over ten years experience as a tutor and qualified high school teacher.

As a tutor I have worked with over 1000 K-12 students across NSW, in one-on-one, online and small group settings.

I am available online 6 days, 12pm -8pm, including school holidays (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Skype).

I am available at Newcastle Library and the 2300 postcode 12pm-5.30pm. If it is a nice day, we can meet at Civic Park (Years 7-12 only). Sometimes it is great to work outside, particularly after being inside at school all day! I am also able to book private study rooms at the Newcastle University City Campus.

For K- 6 students, I am available for at-home tutoring in the 2300 postcode only.

All Sessions are 1hr minimum on a weekly basis. Pricing starts at $80 hr. 1/2hr initial assessment session for $20 to meet and discuss needs, goals, ability, subject, budget and see if I am the right fit for you!

I recommend a minimum of 10 weekly sessions to see benefit from tutoring. For years 7-10, if you have a "study buddy" who would like tutoring in the same area, I am able to facilitate small group sessions for $120hr.

I am flexible if you need to swap dates, times or online/face-to-face. Please just give me 24hrs notice and I will do my best to accommodate.

I have worked as Education Manager for a large tutoring company, overseeing online sessions for professional tutors and hundreds of students across Australia. I also worked for an Ed-Tech start-up based at Sydney University, developing an AI assisted formative feedback tool for English assessments. As a qualified high school teacher I am very familiar with the Australian Curriculum and NESA requirements. I have extensive experience teaching across multiple schools the Newcastle region. My learning areas are HSC English (Standard) and Society & Culture. I also focus on improving general literacy, essay writing and study skills assistance. I have also taught 7-10 English and all Human Society & its Environment subjects (HSIE).

I have extensive experience developing Individual Education Plans (IEP) for K-12 literacy, reading, handwriting, vocabulary development, essay construction, public speaking, creative writing and comprehension fundamentals. I have also worked with many students on the autism spectrum. I love assisting young people with building their core literacy skills, growing their confidence and anchoring these essential skills for life! I employ a mixed approach to my teaching and embed digital literacy skills into all my IEPs, however I am a big believer in emphasising the fundamentals of traditional "pen and paper" literacy, particularly in this era of screen overload and short attention spans! I can assist with schoolwork, homework, assessment, essay writing, exam preparation and general literacy fundamentals.
