Melbourne Science & Art tutor
Melbourne tutor in Biology, Chemistry, EAL, English, General Science, Human Biology, Visual Arts
Hello! My name is Cindy and I’m currently completing Monash University’s Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science. I have experience in working with primary and secondary students as an informal instructor and mentor. I offer to tutor Biology, Chemistry, and Visual Arts based on my strong academic background ( A* for all of the subjects mentioned above in Y10 IGCSE). I have also completed VCE (ATAR 97.90), and thus can integrate knowledge from the program into my lesson plans to assist with the student’s gradual transition to senior education.
Subjects: primary and secondary (Y7-10) Chemistry, Biology, and Visual Art
Language: Fluent in both English and Vietnamese
Availability: Flexible hours and dates
Location: Both online and in-person (local public places like Toorak Library and State LIbrary) Contact: cindynghi2404@gmail.com
As a student myself, I understand that satisfactory feeling from successfully tackling a challenging topic! Thus I’d love to catalyse the same growth in my student’s knowledge and self-belief. I will do so by establishing an approachable learning environment wherein students can confidently ask questions and reflect upon their performance to refine their study methods. In sciences, I aim to integrate hand-drawn diagrams and activities like Kahoot to foster active engagement and learning. For arts, I will encourage creativity and liberty by providing feedback and guidance based on the student’s artistic intentions rather than my own.

Experience
I offered academic support in Chemistry and Biology as a peer mentor across high school and university. I also specialise in assisting English as a Second Language (ESL) students by explaining complex vocabulary and concepts, which is especially important in science subjects. For visual arts, I have volunteered as a hands-on art instructor for young students to inspire artistic confidence and liberty in children. As a tutor, I aim to facilitate clear and professional communication with my students' parents, and work with them to meet academic goals. I strive to tailor my teaching approach to my student's personal learning style.
Qualifications
I have a Working with Children Check. I graduated with an ATAR of 97.90 and was chosen as my school's representative for the University of Melbourne's Kwong Lee Dow Scholars Program. In high school, I have earned two certificates of High Distinction for the International Chemistry Quiz and was awarded the Subject Prize for VCE Art. I'm currently majoring in Pharmaceutical Science in Monash University.
