Hello! My name is Jeff Yu San Wong, and I am currently a 3rd-year Mechanical Engineering student at Monash University. Aside from studying and being passionate about building sustainability and renewable energy, I am passionate about music, and I have been playing guitar for more than a decade now.

As a tutor for three years, I will provide tutoring in Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, and Systems Engineering, covering Units 1-4, as well as tutoring in maths for students in lower levels.

My goal is to guide students through their coursework, tailoring my teaching to their individual needs through my 3 years of teaching experience.

I offer tuition classes online or in-person at a location that is convenient for both the student and myself. If in-home tutoring is preferred, I’m more than happy to travel, provided the location is reasonably accessible.

I have over three years of experience tutoring both online and in-person, working with students in a company as well as independently. During this time, I’ve supported students across a range of year levels and abilities, helping them build a stronger understanding of mathematical concepts and grow their confidence.

My way of teaching is student-focused and their well-being. I tailor each lesson to suit the individual’s learning style and pace, ensuring they not only grasp the material but also develop problem-solving skills better they can apply independently. I provide structured resources, past paper questions, and revision strategies to help students achieve their grades and academic goals.

I always ensure to create a supportive and engaging learning environment, and I’m passionate about making maths more approachable and enjoyable for every student I work with.

Qualifications

I achieved a 91.75 ATAR, with strong subject scores including a 45 in Mathematical Methods, 42 in Specialist Mathematics, and 42 in Systems Engineering. I also hold a valid Working with Children Check.

Besides that, I am part-time busker as I have been playing guitar for more than a decade now.

Rates

For VCE units 1/2 or 3/4 private lesson:
Online - $30 per hour
In-Person - $35 per hour

For years 10 and below, private lessons:
Online - $20 per hour
In-Person - $25 per hour

For groups:
Online - $20 per person per hour
In-Person - $25 per person per hour
