Welcome! My name is Hannah - or Ms McGarry as I am known to my wonderful Year 3 students.

As aforementioned, I am a passionate primary school teacher, with over 10 years experience in education - 9 of which are in full-time classroom positions.

The most fundamental aspect of my teaching philosophy is creating learning environments which inspire students to do just that, learn! I always ensure parents know, that to academics and achievements will come once a student feels confident and excited to enter a space of education. As a classroom educator, I value quality teaching practices, based on current research and curriculum/syllabus documents. This in turn places an emphasis on tailoring lessons to suit each individual student and their best learning styles/interest.

Experience

Throughout my University study, I tutored approximately 20 students from Years 2-7 in English and Mathematics. I have taken a break from tutoring since commencing full-time teaching, however, I am excited to enter the tutoring world once more!

My extensive knowledge of NSW Syllabus documents, in conjunction with my classroom expertise, allows me to formulate tailored lessons to assist your child in working their personal goals in academics. Whether that goal is simply to feel more confident in a lesser known content area, or to extend themselves, tutoring might just be the pathway to get there.

Qualifications

I completed my Bachelor of Primary Education in 2016 at the University of Wollongong (distinction average).

Between 2009 and 2015, I also obtained my Diploma of Music Teaching (AMEB), Grade 8 Practical Piano and Musicianship Certificates (TCL) and Professional Performer’s Diploma (AMEB).

Since graduating, I have taught full-time as a Primary Teacher across a range of public and independent schools. I currently teach Stage 2, however, I have also over 2 years experience on Early Stage 1, Stage 1 and Stage 3.

$60/45 minute lesson, $70/hour lesson
