??ABOUT ME??
Hey, I'm Murphy, and I graduated from The King's School in 2025 with a 99.95 ATAR. I am within the top few ranks in all my subjects, which allowed me to achieve high external HSC marks and a state rank. Next year, I’m studying a Bachelor of Commerce/Laws at the University of Sydney on a Chancellor’s scholarship.

I believe in teaching students the methods that I used to achieve strong results and unlock state-ranking marks outside of purely content knowledge. But, I don’t just care about your marks, I care about helping you find motivation for subjects, feel supported every step of the way and balance study with everything else. I have personally balanced tutoring students, co-curriculars and leadership commitments with my own study throughout Year 11 and 12. Meeting with me will not only improve your results, but importantly, help you study more efficiently and make time for other things even during Year 12.

As a top performer myself, I have exclusive information and experience about exam techniques, what HSC markers are really looking for, and the most common mistakes that students don’t know that they’re making. Whilst content is increasingly accessible and often well understood, I know exactly what it takes to elevate students to the next level. This includes free detailed feedback and unlimited support OUTSIDE of lessons. I’ll be there for you to ensure that you stay on track to get the result you want. You will feel better and see visible improvements, both real-time and long-term.

I have collated an extensive set of resources for the subjects I tutor, including quality past practice questions, worksheets, and my own mock exams. I personally used a lot of these materials to achieve my results. Not only that, I have an array of sample responses written by myself to past trial and HSC papers, so you can see for yourself exactly how a state ranker approaches and answers different questions.

Throughout high school, I have participated in, adjudicated, and prepared students for a wide array of Debating and Public Speaking competitions. Whilst you can be sure that this has given me communication skills that will ensure you can properly understand difficult topics in lessons, I am one of the most qualified people to help you in similar competitions. If you are looking to make the Senior A debating team, earn a state/national placing at a major public speaking competition or even participate in a Model UN, I have done it before.

Finally, I am dedicated to ensuring all my lessons are thoroughly prepared before I teach them. If you have special needs or unique topics you wish to cover, I will go out of my way to prepare resources for them.

My base rate is currently $80 per hour for English, Music and Debating/Public Speaking, but subject to increase as my availability decreases.

I understand that, just like mine was, high-school schedules can be packed and stressful. I offer online lessons via Zoom, flexible to your availabilities, and face-to-face lessons only at Macquarie University.
