98.15 ATAR | Experienced Maths & Chemistry Tutor
Canberra tutor in Algebra, Biochemistry, Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Further Maths, General Maths, Geometry, Human Biology, Maths, Maths Methods, Maths Specialist, Statistics
About me:
I’m currently a first-year Advanced Computing (Honours) student at ANU and studied at Dickson College. My academic journey has been a rewarding one—I excellently achieved an ATAR of 98.15 and received the honour Chancellor's scholarship at ANU, Vice Chancellor's Scholarship and Excellent International Student Award Scholarship at USYD, and received early offers from G8 universities: USYD, ANU, UNSW.
Beyond the grades, I have a genuine love for STEM. Whether it was placing 3rd at ANU Maths Day or earning a Distinction in the Chemistry Olympiad, I’ve always enjoyed the challenge of complex problem-solving. Now, I want to share the strategies and "mindset" that helped me get there with other students.
My Experience:
I don’t just teach theory; I have a track record of helping students achieve competitive results. I’ve spent the last two years:
A. Coaching teams for Dickson College's Maths Team to compete in ANU Maths Day, whereas:
1. In year 11, I participated in Dickson College's Maths Team and achieved 2nd place over ACT and NSW(2024). I also participated in Dickson College's Science Team and achieved a Distinction in Australian Chemistry Olympiad (2024).
2. In year 12, I participated in Dickson College's Maths Team as a leader, and helped the team achieved 3rd place over ACT and NSW (2025).
B. Mentoring at CMEP (Canberra Maths Enrichment Programme) at the Australian National University, where I helped peers tackle high-level mathematical enrichment.
C. Volunteering at Dickson College for the Refugee Bridging Program, which taught me how to adapt my teaching style to suit students from all walks of life.
How I Work With Students:
I’ve found that many students struggle because concepts are explained in ways that are too abstract. My approach is simple:
Break it down: We turn "scary" Chemistry or Specialist Maths topics into logical, bite-sized pieces.
Think like an examiner: Since I’ve recently navigated the Year 12 system and university admissions, I can share the exact exam techniques and time-management tips that work.
Active Learning: Lessons are interactive. I use digital tools for online sessions to make sure they are just as engaging as sitting face-to-face.
Availability & Logistics:
Where: Happy to meet at the student's house, public libraries around Canberra, my own house or via Zoom/Google Meet. I am happy to support students around North Canberra area, as I live in Lyneham.
When: Mostly free on weekday evenings and weekends, but I’m happy to be flexible to fit your schedule.
Subjects: Year 11-12 Specialist Maths, Maths Methods, Chemistry, and any Junior Science/Maths.
I’m a firm believer that anyone can excel in STEM with the right guidance. If you’re looking for someone who is patient, relatable, and knows the curriculum inside out, feel free to reach out!
