I am an experienced English tutor offering online tutoring for primary and high school students, with a strong focus on HSC success.

Availability:
I am available to tutor on weekday afternoons and evenings, as well as weekends. Exact times are flexible and can be arranged to suit students’ schedules.

Achievements & Experience:
I achieved a 99+ ATAR, with a 95 in English Advanced and 47/50 in English Extension, and was ranked 6th in English Advanced at Baulkham Hills High School. Since then, I have tutored 80+ students across private and centre-based settings, including an HSC specialist English tutoring centre and a selective/OC tutoring centre. Over 80% of my high school students have achieved a Band 6 in English Advanced and/or Extension, with all students showing clear improvement in confidence, structure, and marks.

Why I Enjoy Tutoring:
I enjoy tutoring because I genuinely love breaking down complex ideas and making English feel manageable and logical. Throughout my own schooling, I learned the “formula” that underpins success in high school English including strong foundations, clear structure, and targeted exam technique and I aim to give students the guidance and strategies I wish I had received earlier. I strongly believe that building a solid base is the key to long-term improvement and confidence.

Approach to Tutoring:
My tutoring approach is structured, strategic, and personalised. I focus on teaching students how to think and write, not just what to memorise. Lessons emphasise essay structure, thesis development, textual analysis, and exam technique, while also addressing individual weaknesses. I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s learning needs, ensuring they gain both skill and confidence.

Lesson Structure:
Lessons are guided by both the student and me. I prioritise what will make the biggest impact on results, set clear short- and long-term goals with students, and work methodically towards them. Sessions typically involve a mix of content revision, skills development, writing practice, and targeted feedback.

Experience

I have over three years of tutoring experience across private and centre-based settings. For the past year, I have worked at an HSC specialist English tutoring centre, teaching senior high school students in English Advanced and English Extension. In addition, I have tutored primary school students at a selective/OC-focused tutoring centre, supporting them in literacy development and exam preparation.

Alongside this, I have been a private tutor for three years, working one-on-one with students across a range of abilities. Over 80% of the high school students I have taught have achieved a Band 6 in English Advanced and/or English Extension, with the majority demonstrating significant improvement in both assessment and examination marks.

Qualifications

I am currently studying a combined Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Arts at the University of Sydney. I completed my HSC in 2024, achieving a high Band 6 in English Advanced, with an overall mark of 95 and an examination mark of 96. I was ranked 6th out of over 200 students in my cohort at Baulkham Hills High School, a top academically selective school.

I also achieved a Band 6 in English Extension, receiving 47/50 in the HSC examination. These results reflect both my strong academic foundation in English and my deep understanding of syllabus requirements, assessment criteria, and high-level analytical writing.
