Building high achievers, step by step
Brisbane tutor in Economics, Statistics
My name is Tim, and I am a university lecturer teaching economics at both university and high school levels. I am committed to helping students become high achievers, regardless of their starting point. Whether a student is struggling with basic concepts or aiming for top results, my focus is on building strong foundations, disciplined thinking, and exam-ready skills.
I use a structured and personalised approach that targets each student’s weaknesses while steadily developing confidence and analytical ability. Through clear explanations, regular practice, and practical feedback, I help students turn uncertainty into understanding and effort into strong academic performance. My goal is not just to improve marks, but to equip students with the skills and mindset needed to succeed independently and consistently.

Experience
I have over 20 years of teaching experience in Economics and Statistics across both university and school settings. I have previously taught at the University of Melbourne and am currently teaching at Griffith University, working with students from a wide range of backgrounds and ability levels. In addition to university teaching, I have extensive experience tutoring economics for high school students, helping them strengthen their foundations, improve problem-solving skills, and achieve strong results in assessments and exams. My teaching style is clear, structured, and supportive, with a strong focus on building confidence and developing high-achieving study habits—regardless of where a student starts.
