Hi, my name is Ethan and I’m thrilled to offer my services as a private tutor for your child. I have graduated from Perth Modern School, the only academically selective high school in Western Australia, with an exceptional ATAR result. My academic achievements include succeeding in multiple competitions, most notably winning National First Place in the Australian Geography Competition, Prize Winner in the Australian Mathematics Competition, and Prize Winner in the ICAS Spelling Bee Competition.

In addition to these awards, I have extensive experience in tutoring a range of students from Year 4 to Year 12, including those with special needs. I also hold a valid Working with Children Check and National Police Certificate, so you can rest assured that your child is in safe hands. My key strength is making complex concepts easy to understand through step-by-step explanations and practical examples, which helps them to quickly grasp difficult topics and improve their problem solving skills. For example, one of my Year 12 ATAR students who started with grades of around 30%, is now capable of independently solving tough exam questions and his grades have doubled to around 60%. Our current goal is to work together to achieve 70% in his upcoming WACE Exams.

I'm able to conduct both online and in-person tutoring for subjects including Maths, English, Science, HASS, NAPLAN, Selective School Exams (GATE), Maths Methods Year 11-12, and Chemistry Year 11-12. Please feel free to call or text me on 0468769507 or send an enquiry to ethanxu0605@gmail.com to discuss your child's situation. I’m looking forward to getting to know them and helping them achieve their academic goals!

Experience

Volunteer at West Leederville Primary School from February 2022 to December 2024
Volunteering at West Leederville Primary School required patience, creativity, and adaptability as I worked to tailor lessons to each child’s unique needs. By fostering a supportive and engaging environment, I helped these students build confidence in their abilities, leading to noticeable improvements in their language skills. Their bright smiles after successful results in subsequent tests were well worth my effort and demonstrated the importance of tutors in guiding them along their learning journey.

Volunteer at Friends of Lake Claremont from January 2022 to Present
Being a volunteer with Friends of Lake Claremont, locals dedicated to maintaining our local wildlife park, I've been able to work alongside incredible individuals, most of whom are senior residents. Volunteering has been profoundly meaningful, as it has taught me how to work together with others of different ages, cultures and beliefs. As a young person, I was informed of my responsibilities to take up the more arduous tasks such as carrying water buckets. What makes this experience especially important to me is the relationships I’ve built with the seniors in the group. I’m most inspired by their dedication to preserving the local wildlife for future generations through small, deliberate actions that have created a lasting impact.
