I am a passionate Teacher and Tutor, with over 30 years experience in Australia and the U.K., in the areas of History and Religion. I also am gifted at guiding students to understand the importance of Study Skills and Essay Writing. I enjoy the opportunity to foster insight away from the bustle of the classroom. The one-one-one and small group opportunities in tutoring are of great value for students.

I am available Monday to Friday in the afternoons, and all day on Saturday and Sunday.

The level of my expertise is indicated by my tertiary qualifications, and the fact that I am an experienced HSC Marker.

I certainly expect, in my tutoring, students to be involved. I expect them to find their voice. They can only learn to write essays well if they do this. I also focus on seeing the big picture, and seeing the way that complex events and arguments can be more easily understood.

I am very happy for parents to sit in on the early sessions, so that they can understand how I approach the whole process.

Experience

I have been tutoring for over 30 years, and been teaching in Australia and the U.K. for over 30 years. I am an experienced History and SOR teacher, across all courses in Years 7-12 (and an experienced HSC marker). I am also experienced in Study Skills and Essay Writing.

Qualifications

I have completed a B.A. and Dip.Ed. from Sydney University, and an M.A. (Education) from Macquarie University.
