7-12 Tutoring and Academic Support - Online and In Person
Sydney tutor in Anthropology, Essay Writing, Geography, History, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Society and Culture, Special Needs, Study Skills
I am Tyson Goodwin, a passionate HSC History and Humanities tutor based in Western Sydney. I am available throughout the week and flexible on weekends. I offer both online lessons via Zoom or Google Meet and in-person tutoring at my location in Penrith or at students’ homes (Western Sydney only). I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to share my love of history while helping students build confidence, analytical skills, and exam-ready strategies. My lessons focus on personalised guidance, combining discussion, essay writing, source analysis, and past-paper practice relevant for the student's needs. I tutor Years 7–12, with a particular focus on HSIE, and I structure lessons to review previous work, introduce new topics, guide practice, provide feedback, and set clear tasks for independent study. My goal is to help students improve not only their marks but also their understanding, confidence, and long-term study skills.

Experience
I am both a passionate learner and a passionate teacher. I have deeply enjoyed working in a school environment and aim to bring both strong academic achievement and practical classroom experience to my tutoring. I am a history lover, evident in my achievements of a 94 ATAR, Band 6 results in Ancient History and first place rankings in multiple humanities subjects.
Working within high school education, I understand syllabus requirements, assessment standards, and what markers look for at a Band 5–6 level. My focus is to build confidence, help refine writing technique, and develop capable independent learners. I have worked with students with a diverse range of backgrounds and love seeing them improve their learning.
You can expect reliability, clear communication, and relevant academic support in every session.
