Hi, I’m Amber, a UNSW Computer Science student with a passion for teaching English. I’ve had experience tutoring younger students back home as well as peers and juniors at school and university, helping them with reading, writing, grammar, and speaking. I’m extremely patient and like to go at each student’s pace, breaking down concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps while creating a supportive and relaxed environment. I enjoy helping students gain confidence in their abilities and structure my lessons around their goals, using exercises, worksheets, and practical examples to make learning enjoyable and effective. I offer tutoring for primary, high school, and ESL learners, both online and in-person around Sydney, and I’m happy to adapt lessons to suit each student’s needs.

Experience

I have quite a bit of tutoring experience that has helped me develop patience, clear communication, and adaptability as a teacher. Back home, I spent time helping younger students with their schoolwork, especially in English and other subjects, making sure they understood concepts rather than just memorizing answers. I’ve also tutored my peers and juniors at school and university, helping them with assignments, exam preparation, and understanding tricky topics. Through these experiences, I’ve learned how to break down complex ideas into simple, easy-to-follow steps, and how to adjust my teaching style to match each student’s pace and learning style. It’s been really rewarding to see students gain confidence and improve their skills over time.

Qualifications

I’m currently a student at the University of New South Wales, pursuing a degree in Computer Science. Along the way, I’ve built a strong foundation in subjects like English, mathematics, and problem-solving, which I use in my tutoring. While I don’t hold formal teaching certifications yet, my extensive hands-on experience tutoring younger students, peers, and juniors has given me practical skills in lesson planning, explaining concepts clearly, and adapting to different learning styles. My academic background, combined with my passion for teaching, allows me to guide students effectively and help them build confidence in their abilities.
