Hi! My name is Verena and I’m a native German speaker offering personalised German lessons with a focus on steady progress and building real confidence.

A little about me: I grew up in Germany and moved to Australia when I was 19. I’m now 30, a mum to an 11-month-old, and engaged to an Aussie—so I’ve spent many years living between both languages and cultures. I feel completely “at home” in both German and English and understand the challenges that come with learning and using a second language.

I have experience supporting learners at different levels, and I enjoy helping people become more confident and comfortable using German in everyday situations. My lessons are supportive and structured, with a strong focus on actually seeing improvement over time.

How lessons work:

Lessons are held online, making it easy to fit into your schedule. I’m available weekday evenings and have some flexibility on weekends.

I am a native German speaker with full fluency in English, having lived in an English-speaking country for over 10 years. This allows me to clearly explain German concepts in English and support learners who are starting from beginner level as well as those looking to refine their skills.

My bilingual background helps me understand the common challenges English speakers face when learning German, and I can provide clear explanations and effective strategies to overcome them.
