Brisbane tutor in Computing, Media Studies, Programming, Web Development

I'm a Brisbane-based IT professional and developer with real commercial experience across web development, cybersecurity, technical drafting, and business — and five years of tutoring students from university and community networks in these subjects.

I've built production websites and internal tools for clients in engineering, law, and accounting, worked on data automation at global engineering firm Stantec, and have hands-on experience with Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, networking, and security tooling. I also built Volta — my own programming language, complete with its own lexer, parser, and runtime. If you want someone who understands how computers actually work at a fundamental level, that's the kind of depth I bring.
I hold a Diploma of Commerce and spent eight years in retail including four in management, so I can help with business subjects too.

I teach practically. No unnecessary jargon, no reading from a textbook. I explain things the way I wish someone had explained them to me — with real examples, at your pace, until it actually makes sense.

I work well with university students, adult learners, and anyone returning to study. Whether you're stuck on a specific concept, falling behind in a course, or just want to actually understand what you're learning rather than memorise it for an exam — I can help with that.

Subjects I cover: Web Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python), Cybersecurity, IT & Computing, Business & Commerce, AutoCAD & Technical Drawing.

Available evenings and weekends. Brisbane-based, online sessions available Australia-wide.

Experience

I have approximately five years of tutoring experience, working with students sourced through community networks, university study groups, and peer referrals. While this was informal rather than institutional, the teaching was real — I regularly worked with university students and adult learners across IT, web development, business, and computing subjects, explaining concepts, working through problems together, and helping people build confidence with technical material they found difficult. This experience taught me how to read where a student is actually stuck versus where they think they are stuck, and how to adjust my explanations accordingly.
