Brisbane tutor in Communication, Creative Writing, EAL, English, English Language, English Literature, ESL, Essay Writing, Journalism, Media Studies, Politics, Reading, Society and Culture, Spanish

Hi, I’m Lucia. I’m a Journalism student based in Brisbane, born in Spain and raised in New Zealand from the age of seven. Being raised between different languages and cultures gave me a strong interest in communication, storytelling, and language learning from a young age.

I previously worked as an English Language Assistant at a primary school in Spain, supporting children aged 3–12 in classroom, small group, and one-on-one learning environments. My role included helping students during lessons, supporting literacy and communication skills, assisting with classroom activities, and planning small group English activities for older students.

I offer tutoring in English, Spanish, reading, creative writing, essay writing, ESL/EAL support, journalism, communications, media studies, politics, and social studies for primary and secondary students.

My teaching style is supportive, patient, and adapted to each student’s individual learning style and confidence level. I aim to create lessons that feel engaging and comfortable, while helping students build confidence in their writing, communication, and understanding of language.

Sessions are usually between 30–60 minutes long, depending on the student’s age and needs. I offer both online and in-person tutoring in Brisbane.

Experience

I have experience working with children aged 3–12 as an English Language Assistant at a primary school in Spain. In this role, I supported teachers during English lessons, worked one-on-one with students who needed extra help, and led small group activities focused on improving confidence and communication skills in English.

I also assisted younger students with classroom tasks and language activities, helping adapt explanations to different learning styles and confidence levels. Through this experience, I developed strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Alongside primary tutoring, I also offer support for secondary students in English, essay writing, journalism, communications, media studies, politics, and social studies. As a Journalism student, I particularly enjoy helping students improve their writing, structure arguments clearly, and build confidence expressing their ideas.

Qualifications

I am currently studying Journalism in Brisbane, with a strong interest in communication, writing, literature, and language learning. I was born in Spain and raised in New Zealand, and I am fluent in both English and Spanish.
