Every learner deserves the right tools, the right support, and the chance to succeed.

Hi! I’m Jo, and I support students of all ages and stages in their reading journey. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, using methods that align with how the brain learns to read.

With over 16 years of teaching, I’ve worked with a wide range of learners and seen firsthand how much a structured approach can change a student’s confidence and progress.

Experience

I have more than 16 years’ experience supporting a diverse range of learners, including students with ADHD, ASD, additional learning needs, and those from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds. My expertise lies in targeted intervention and strengthening foundational skills, particularly in literacy and early learning, rather than extension or gifted education programs.

Qualifications

I am a qualified primary school teacher. I’ve completed training in trauma-informed practice through the Berry Street Education Model, and I am trained in and use structured literacy approaches such as Sounds-Write and the Orton-Gillingham approach to support students who benefit from clear, step-by-step teaching.
