About me – experience and qualifications
Native Spanish speaker with a strong background in language teaching and applied linguistics.
Extensive experience teaching in university and language?institute settings, including curriculum design and assessment.
Skilled in online teaching, using interactive tools and communicative, task?based activities.
Experience supporting high?school, university, and adult learners with academic, professional, and personal Spanish goals.
Why I enjoy tutoring
Tutoring lets me work closely with learners at different stages—from school to university and beyond—and support them as they build real confidence using Spanish. Helping someone go from basic phrases to genuine conversation, or from struggling with grammar to feeling in control, is one of the most satisfying parts of my work.
Main areas of expertise
General Spanish from beginner to upper?intermediate
High?school Spanish support (assignments, exams, speaking practice)
University Spanish (course support, academic skills, presentations)
Conversation and fluency, including pronunciation and listening
Grammar and writing (clear explanations and practical practice)
Spanish for travel, work, or everyday communication
My tutoring approach
My approach is student?centred and communicative. I:
Start from your goals (school results, university success, travel, work, or general communication).
Use plenty of meaningful input (listening and reading) plus guided practice and real?life tasks.
Explain grammar in simple, accessible terms and immediately recycle it in speaking and writing.
Integrate culture and pragmatics, so you learn not only correct forms but also appropriate, natural language.
How I structure lessons
A typical 60?minute lesson includes:
Brief check?in and review of previous content.
A short input activity (listening/reading) to introduce language in context.
A focused language section (grammar, vocabulary, or pronunciation).
Guided practice (targeted exercises, mini?tasks).
A communicative task (dialogue, role?play, discussion, exam?style task).
Feedback and next steps, with a small task or suggestion for self?study.
Materials and resources
I use:
Custom worksheets, slides, and activities tailored to your level and aims.
Authentic materials (short texts, videos, audio) appropriate to age and proficiency.
Activities from recognised Spanish textbooks if you want a more structured course.
I am happy to work with your school/university materials or recommend a textbook if needed.
Levels I tutor
Secondary / High School: all levels, including exam preparation and assignment support
University: first?year to advanced coursework support and skills development
Adults: beginner to upper?intermediate, for travel, work, or personal interest
Other relevant information
I offer one?to?one or small?group lessons (2–3 learners with similar level/goals).
After each lesson, I can provide brief written feedback and suggestions, so you know what to review and how to keep progressing between sessions.
