Hi! ?????? My name is Laura and I am a 25-year-old Japanese tutor from Perth, Western Australia.

My passion for Japanese began during high school and continued through university studies at The University of Western Australia. I later moved to Japan, where I lived and worked for 1.5 years while completing advance intensive Japanese studies at Shinjuku Japanese Language Institute in Tokyo.

Through both academic study and daily life in Japan, I developed strong practical communication skills and a deep understanding of the Japanese language and culture. As a language learner myself, I understand how overwhelming learning Japanese can sometimes feel, especially for beginners, which is why I aim to create supportive, encouraging, and engaging lessons tailored to each student’s goals and learning style.

I have experience supporting and tutoring beginner learners in a friendly and encouraging environment. As both a tutor and language learner myself, I understand that every student learns differently, so I aim to adapt lessons to each student’s goals, pace, and learning style.

I particularly enjoy helping students build confidence, improve communication skills, and stay motivated throughout their learning journey. * Intensive Japanese language studies completed at Shinjuku Japanese Language Institute in Tokyo
* Lived and worked in Japan for 1.5 years

* Familiar with JLPT N5–N3 study methods, grammar, vocabulary, and exam preparation
* Native English speaker
* Experience supporting beginner language learners in a tutoring environment
