Most students who think they're "bad at Maths" aren't. They just hit one shaky topic in Year 7 or 8, never fully patched it, and have been quietly building on a crack ever since. By Year 9 it feels like the whole subject is against them. Almost always, the fix is smaller than they expect.
That's the part I enjoy. I studied Chemistry at IIT Bombay, which is the kind of place where you don't get to memorise your way through anything. You either understand why something works or you fall behind fast. That trains a very specific skill: taking something that looks intimidating and stripping it back until it's obvious. I can see the moment a student hesitates, and that hesitation usually tells me more than their answer does. We chase it down and fix the real gap, not just the question in front of us.
