Hello, I'm Angus. I've spent the last five years tutoring English, Maths, Legal Studies and Business Studies, working one-on-one with more than 25 students whilst also running small-group classes.

I graduated from Baulkham Hills High School in 2024 with a 97.60 ATAR. My marks include:

- 95 in Mathematics Advanced
- 93 in English Advanced

- 95 in Business Studies
- 89 in Legal Studies

For English, my focus is on building a genuine understanding of the text, including themes, context, and authorial intent, before moving into paragraph structure, essay writing and exam technique. Ensuring that students aren't just memorising responses. For Maths, I break down conceptually difficult topics into their underlying logic, using clear step-by-step explanations and worked examples so students understand why a method works, not just how to apply it. For Business and Legal Studies, I focus on understanding niche concepts in depth, while staying up to date with the most current and relevant statistics and case studies to strengthen students' responses

A typical lesson looks like:
1) Answer student questions (homework, schoolwork, assessment notifications)

2) Outline the content to be learnt in the lesson

3) Clear explanation of difficult concepts

4) Practice exam-style questions to familiarise implementing content

5) Feedback --> reattempting questions

In 2025, 7 out of 8 students I tutored achieved a Band 6 in their respective subjects (an 88% success rate). They've primarily appreciated the bespoke worksheets I've created and access to the resource drives I've provided, which include unlimited trial/HSC-style practice questions.

I'm currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) at the University of New South Wales. Fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Lessons take place at my home in Epping, at public libraries (Macquarie, UNSW, Epping) or at the student's home within a reasonable radius.

Over 5 years of experience in private one-on-one tutoring as well as small-group classes. Worked with 25+ students, worked through past exam papers, breaking down hard concepts, and provided a curated bank of past trial/HSC questions and practice materials to match the students' learning style and pace.

On top of this, I also:
- Answer questions sent throughout the week outside of the lesson, within 24 hours, through SMS/Messenger/Discord.
- Provide progress updates, so you (or your parents) always know where things stand.
- Tailor study plans in the lead-up to exams.

Qualifications

I am currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce, Majoring in Finance and Accounting at UNSW. I graduated from Baulkham Hills High School in 2024 with a 97.60 ATAR, including 95 in Mathematics Advanced, 93 in English Advanced and 94 in Business Studies.

In 2025, I had an 88% success rate, with 7/8 students achieving a Band 6 in the respective subjects I tutored.

I am fluent in both English and Mandarin, enabling clear communication with students and Mandarin-speaking parents about their child's academic progress and areas for development.
