Adelaide tutor in Biology, General Maths, Human Biology, Maths, Microbiology

Hi, I’m Hazel, a qualified secondary school teacher with a passion for helping students build confidence and achieve their potential.

I hold a Bachelor of Science, Master of Education, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Mathematics. I have experience teaching Mathematics, Science and Biology in secondary schools, along with maths examiner experience, giving me a strong understanding of what students need to succeed in assessments. I also hold a current Working With Children Check.

I offer tutoring in:

* Mathematics – Years 7–10
* SACE Stage 1 & Stage 2 Essential Mathematics
* SACE Stage 1 & Stage 2 General Mathematics
* Science – Years 7–10
* Biology – Years 11–12

Whether your child needs help catching up, extending their understanding, preparing for an exam, or simply building confidence, I tailor each lesson to their individual needs and learning style.

My lessons focus on developing genuine understanding rather than memorising procedures. I break difficult concepts into manageable steps, use worked examples and targeted practice questions, and regularly revisit previous topics to strengthen long-term understanding. I also provide homework support, revision strategies and exam preparation where required.

I tutor students one-to-one in their own home (within the Novar Gardens, Glenelg and surrounding areas), with group sessions available on request.

I genuinely enjoy seeing students reach the point where maths starts to make sense and their confidence grows. My aim is to create a relaxed, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and are encouraged to achieve their very best.
