Hello! I’m Dr. Maria Mijara D. Baclohan, a passionate and experienced educator with over 17 years of teaching experience in the Philippines and the United States. I am a Queensland and New Zealand Registered Teacher and a Florida Certified Teacher, with experience teaching students from primary through middle school and secondary levels (Years 3–10).

I specialize in Mathematics, English/Reading, and Science, and I enjoy helping students build strong academic foundations while developing confidence and a love for learning. My teaching approach is patient, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual learning style. I use clear explanations, engaging activities, and positive encouragement to make learning enjoyable and effective.

I hold a Doctor of Development Education, a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision, and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. My international teaching experience has allowed me to work successfully with students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.

Experience

I am a Queensland and New Zealand registered teacher with over 17 years of teaching experience in the Philippines and the United States. I have taught students from primary through middle school and secondary levels, including Years 3–10, and I specialize in Mathematics, English/Reading, and Science.

My recent teaching experience includes working at Genesis Preparatory School in Florida, an A-rated Kagan Model school, where I taught Science for Grades 6–10 and used engaging, student-centered teaching strategies to help learners build confidence and achieve academic success. Prior to this, I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade in the United States and also worked in the Philippine education system.

As a tutor, I provide:
