I’m a qualified primary school teacher with extensive experience supporting children who are struggling academically, have learning difficulties or simply need things explained in a different way.
Much of my teaching experience has been in rural and remote communities, working closely with students with complex learning needs and significant gaps in literacy and numeracy. I have spent several years providing targeted intervention and one-to-one support, including helping students who began one to two years behind in reading progress to an age-appropriate reading level within a year.
I have experience supporting children with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism, working-memory and processing difficulties, intellectual disability, anxiety, school refusal and trauma. I have also worked extensively with children who have lost confidence in their abilities or become frustrated and disengaged from learning.
One of my strengths as a teacher is figuring out why a child isn’t understanding something and finding another way to teach it. I bring learning back to the foundations, identify gaps that may have been missed and explain concepts in clear, child-friendly language. I’ve worked with students who believed they were simply “bad at maths” who have finally had that “Oh! I get it now” moment when a concept was taught in a way that worked for them.
I don’t believe a struggling child needs more worksheets or more of the same teaching that hasn’t worked for them.
I take the time to get to know each child, understand their strengths and interests, identify barriers to their learning and work out where the gaps are. From there, I break learning into achievable steps and provide the individual attention they may not always be able to receive in a busy classroom.
Building confidence is a big part of this. I want children to experience genuine success, feel comfortable making mistakes and gradually become more independent learners. Parents I’ve worked with have noticed improvements not only in their child’s academic ability, but also in their confidence and attitude towards learning.
I offer individualised support in:
* Reading – phonics, decoding, fluency and comprehension
* Writing – spelling, handwriting, sentence structure and written expression
* Mathematics – foundational numeracy through to year-level concepts
* Learning difficulties – targeted support tailored to the individual child
* Catch-up and intervention – identifying and addressing gaps in foundational skills
* Homeschooling – curriculum support, targeted teaching and personalised learning
* Confidence and engagement – supporting children who have become anxious, frustrated or disengaged from learning
While my greatest experience is with primary-aged children, I have taught students across Kindergarten to Year 12 and have experience working with and tutoring homeschooled students.
Ultimately, I want your child to leave tutoring feeling more capable than when they arrived. Whether that’s finally understanding a maths concept, reading something they couldn’t read before, writing independently or simply beginning to believe, “I can do this.”

Experience
I have five years of experience working directly with children in educational settings, including classroom teaching, literacy and numeracy intervention, private tutoring and homeschooling support.
I have taught professionally for 3.5 years, primarily in rural and remote communities where I worked with students across a wide range of abilities and often complex learning needs. Prior to becoming a qualified teacher, I completed two years of supervised classroom placements as part of my Master of Teaching, giving me experience across multiple schools, year levels and learning environments.
Alongside classroom teaching, I have provided one-to-one tutoring for multiple children and have worked as a live-in tutor supporting a homeschooling family, providing individualised teaching and helping children progress through their learning programs.
A significant part of my professional experience has involved working individually and in small groups with students who are below expected levels in literacy and numeracy. I have supported students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism, working-memory and processing difficulties, intellectual disability, anxiety, school refusal and trauma.
