I am a patient, positive and supportive primary maths tutor currently completing a Master of Teaching (Primary) at UTS. I have two years of tutoring experience as well as practical classroom teaching experience in Sydney primary schools.

I provide mathematics tutoring for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. I understand that every child learns differently and at their own pace, so I tailor my lessons to each student’s current ability, learning goals and individual needs. My focus is not simply on helping students memorise procedures or answers, but on developing a genuine understanding of mathematical concepts.

During lessons, I use clear step-by-step explanations, visual supports, practical examples, mathematical materials and targeted practice to break challenging concepts into manageable steps. Once students develop a strong foundation, I gradually encourage them to apply their knowledge more independently and develop their problem-solving skills.

My lessons are suitable for students who would like to strengthen their numeracy foundations, improve their school performance, receive support with homework and revision, or simply become more confident in mathematics.

Most importantly, I aim to create a calm, encouraging and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace. I believe mathematics is not only about getting the correct answer, but also about helping students understand how and why they reached that answer and giving them the confidence to solve problems independently.

Experience

I have two years of tutoring experience working with primary school students across different year levels. I have supported students with mathematics, homework, revision and the development of core numeracy skills. I adapt my teaching to each student’s learning pace and provide clear, step-by-step explanations to help make difficult concepts easier to understand.

In addition to private tutoring, I have gained practical classroom teaching experience through my primary school placements. This has given me experience working with students with different learning abilities and needs, as well as planning lessons, explaining concepts, assessing student understanding and providing individual support.

Qualifications

I hold a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and I am currently completing a Master of Teaching (Primary) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

My teacher education has provided me with professional knowledge in primary mathematics, literacy, lesson planning, assessment, classroom management and inclusive education. I have also completed professional teaching placements in Sydney primary schools, where I have planned and delivered lessons and worked directly with primary-aged students in real classroom settings.
