About Me
I’m a professional violinist and violist with 20 years of professional performing and teaching experience. I perform regularly with Australia's leading period ensembles, including the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Pinchgut Opera, Australian Haydn Ensemble, Bach Akademie Australia, and The Muffat Collective.
I completed my Bachelor of Music at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London before undertaking postgraduate studies in Historical Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. Alongside performing, I have tutored for Sydney Youth Orchestras (SYO), the Young Mannheim Symphonists, independent schools across Sydney, and co-directed the Early Music Ensemble at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
My Approach to Teaching
My goal is to help students genuinely love playing music. Whether you're a parent looking for a teacher for your child, an adult picking up the instrument, or an advanced player refining your technique, I tailor lessons to what you want to achieve.
Technique: I focus heavily on healthy, comfortable posture and movement so you get a great sound without tension or injury risk.
Curriculum: Happy to guide students through AMEB and HSC exams, build foundations using classic repertoire books like Suzuki, or explore non-classical styles based on student interest.
Specialist Coaching: I offer Baroque and Classical stylistic coaching (phrasing, ornamentation, and historical practice) for advanced players on both modern and period instruments.
Lessons & Locations
Options: Regular term lessons, paid trial sessions, or casual single coaching sessions.
Students: All ages and levels welcome (beginners, school students, and adults).
