Hi, I’m Alex! I’m a Registered Nurse and high school academic program founder (Newington College Academic Wingman). I graduated with an IB Diploma score of 41/45 (97.10 ATAR), achieving top Level 7s across English Higher Level (HL) Literature, Philosophy HL, Biology, and Mandarin.
My passion is helping students move beyond basic memorisation to build genuine analytical skills, strategic study habits, and exam confidence.

Primary Specialties: English (Literature & Language), Philosophy, Mathematics, and Biology.
Mentorship & Core Skills: Study habit development, essay structuring, exam strategy, and IB Core guidance (Extended Essay, TOK, CAS).

Saturdays & Sundays: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM (Full availability; early morning or late afternoon slots flexible around morning commitments).
Weekdays: Flexible afternoon/evening slots available week-to-week (scheduled around my healthcare roster).

Experience

In high school at Newington, I co-founded a peer-tutoring initiative called the Academic Wingman program. It was entirely student-led and provided support for Years 7 to 11 across all subjects. My personal teaching focus was on English, Math and Philosophy. Co-founding the program meant I wasn't just teaching—I was designing how we delivered academic support, managing peer relationships, and helping younger students build real confidence in heavy analytical subjects.

The program was so successful that the school continued to implement it after our graduation.
